Tobias Hellkvist - Step Aside (EfterKlang Cover)
Some Mondays feel like Sundays and it’s best to drift softly into the cool summer morning.
Home Normal’s Swedish producer/instrumentalist Tobias Hellkvist covers the Danish ensemble Efterklang in his own rendering of “Step Aside.” Taken from their 2004 release Tripper, Hellkvist drops the multi-instrumentalism of electric beats and keyboards and, managing still to keep in line with the band’s intended warmth and delicate melody, strips it bare to a pensive acoustical performance. And for this morning, it hits the right chords and pulls at the appropriate heartstrings.
And I suppose I’ll fall off.
