Django Django - Default (Logo Remix)
Folktronic art pop quartet Django Django gets the remix treatment from Parisian electro duo Logos for their single “Default“.
Formed in 2008, this London four piece consisting of guitarist/ vocalist Vinny Neff, drummer Dave Maclean (Younger brother to Beta Band John Maclean. WHAT?!), bassist Duncan Marquis (from Phantom Band) and celloist/ vocalist Cara Tolmie have already been tossed comparisons to Hot Chip, the Beta Band (I wonder why?), and Clinic. Experimental but rich in solid riffs, their music impresses and incites. The remix by Logos injects a hefty layer of production, found sound, and digital intensity giving us twice the load as it spans a near 7 minutes. It’s not as raw as the original but it doesn’t stray too far from. Besides, we haven’t put a remix on the playlist in a hot minute and it’s about time for a turnaround.
