Shame on living for being so damn strenuous with asinine online courses, work (or lack there of), wacky Miami gallivanting, awkward sexual frustratings, and sundown to dawn LA nightlifing. Sigh. Hard life. Retrograde? Tough shit.
Yet, it’s finally here. Our Mixtape #5 went through several incarnations through the course of March starting as a dreary ides of sad bastard folkishness and lip-biting grooves, to a house heavy, Ultra-enthused feet trampler to finally this upbeat, toe-tapping indie collection.
How this came to be the final rendition I can sincerely say is due to the people that revolve in my universe and the idea that a mixtape, when done in this frequency, should essentially be a timepiece marking a point of existence, a period of living.
Suffice to say, everything’s alright. Well, it’s as close to alright as weirdness will allow anyway. Merp.

From their 2008 release Pain Disappears, “Always You” is quite the cool amaze-balls track we at the Mixtape Files have been needing. With vocals that are reminiscent of Kings Of Convenience/ Whitest Boy Alive frontman Erlend Oye, French DJ’s Mlle. Caro and Franck Garcia push their glitchy sound towards Berlin-based minimal techno. Together, the duo mesh moody pop sensibilities with slim cool rhythms.
