Washed Out - Eyes Be Closed

Featured in our Mixtape #2 (Download: Here), Ernest Greene, better known as Washed Out, has signed up with Sub Pop for his first full length debut entitled Within and Without and we’re all very ape-tit over it.  “Eyes Be Closed”, the first dreamy single release to come out from this highly anticipated debut, clearly retains a lot of the tones and synth that made Washed Out such a notable up-and-coming artist and producer last year.  However, with Sub Pop backing him up, the work is more concise; the pits and valleys of noise, extremely rich; and the production, clean.  

Basically, Washed Out? Bedroom recording artist? Not anymore.  It seems he swapped the cozy bedroom jammy-jams for a swanky label recording space.  Yet, we may be better off for it.

My Morning Jacket - Outta My System (Washed Out Remix)

We all believe in something even if we believe there is nothing to believe.

Now Sub Pop artist Ernest Green, aka Washed Out, lends his synth-pop fuzziness into this remix of My Morning Jacket’s “Outta My System”.  In the EP Outta My System - Remixez y Friends released last week, Green, Dave Steik, and others provide their own unique takes to the single from My Morning Jacket’s 2011 release Circuital.  Filled with glittering synthetics and swiped psychedelic homilies, the Washed Out remix is a soothing surrealist sonata seeding circling thoughts and new perceptions.

Love away any fear and walk through the doorway.
